Prairie Dog, discounted. READ POST!

We have ONE, Prairie Dog that was born this past spring, so about 5 months old.  When it came to us with the group, it had been over groomed (a common thing for many species,) so we held it back to make sure it's ears had been fully healed.  It has completely healed and doing amazing, however, visually looks different.  As you can see in the pic, the over-grooming affected the look of the ears.  This will not affect the overall health of the pet.  Since it is slightly older, we suggest only getting this baby if you have prior Prairie Dog experience.  If you have not had a Prairie Dog before, get on the waiting list for next season!

General Information: Prairie Dogs originate from the grasslands of north America.  They crave affection, however, they do best when housed alone.  Otherwise they will bond with each other and not you.  If you want more than one, we suggest housing them seperately.  They can have "playtime" together, but not live together.

The average livespan is 8 - 10 years.  Adult size approximately 1 - 3 lbs.

Diet: We feed a mixture of Prairie Dog diet, monkey biscuits, rodent block.  We give treats of fresh fruit and vegetables.
